Wrike Expert Review

Wrike Review: Is It the Right Project Management Tool for Your Business?

Wrike has been empowering professionals and teams to better manage their work since its launch in 2006. It’s a comprehensive solution for professional service providers, marketing teams, and agencies. But all this versatility comes with a high price tag.

Is it worth it? In this Findstack review, we’re going to find out.

What is Wrike: A Quick Overview

Wrike is an all-in-one work management platform that helps teams collaborate, plan projects, delegate tasks, and track progress. The platform offers a range of plans designed to meet the needs of almost any kind of business. Whether you’re a solopreneur or a department head at a Fortune 500 company, Wrike has a plan for you.

Wrike Dashboard

Wrike’s power lies in its ability to support both project management and collaborative work, which explains its appeal to a wide range of industries. The tool boasts a user-friendly dashboard that’s pretty simple to set up. It’s also very easy to create tasks, assign them to team members, set due dates, and track their progress.

Getting Started With Wrike

Wrike is one of the more intuitive project management tools for a new user to get started with—especially compared to competitors like ClickUp.

Wrike is available to users via web browser, desktop application, and mobile application for both Android and iOS devices.

To get started with Wrike, new users have the option to register for a free account using their business email. Once the email address is verified, users will be redirected to Wrike’s homepage to complete the initial registration process—which involves a guided walkthrough.

How Wrike Works: Key Features

Dashboards

If you’ve ever used a project management tool, Wrike’s Dashboards will feel very familiar.

Wrike Redesign Page

For every project you create in Wrike, you can create Dashboards to display, manipulate, and analyze the project data that you’ve collected within it. They essentially give you an overview of project KPIs, metrics, due dates, and progress at a glance—saving you the hassle of seeking out each piece of data at the source.

When you create a Dashboard, you can start with a template or build one from scratch. If you go the latter route, you have quite a bit of flexibility thanks to a modular design and a wide selection of interactive widgets, including:

  • Assigned tasks
  • Overdue tasks assigned to you
  • Overdue tasks that you assigned
  • Tasks you’re following
Wrike Project management Page

Wrike is unlike a lot of project management tools because everything you need is right at your fingertips. You don’t need to navigate to another window to see it all.

Automation

Like most modern project management tools, Wrike features an automation engine that works in the background to synch related tasks, assign workloads, and ensure tasks are completed on time with botted @mentions and comments.

Wrike Inbox Page

Wrike’s automation engine may not be the most complex or versatile on the market, but it’s intuitive and practical. There’s no feature bloat here—every feature is sure to get some use.

Integrations

On a related note, Wrike’s automation capabilities are supported by 400+ integrations with third-party tools. Pretty much every tool category is covered, including:

  • CRM
  • Communication
  • BI
  • Calendar
  • CMS
  • Storage
  • Accounting
  • Reporting
Wrike Tools

Integrating Wrike with other tools in your stack is a great way to cut out some busy work from daily workstreams and improve productivity. It’s also a surefire way to minimize human error.

Live Analytics

Wrike automatically updates every report, chart, and dashboard every 15 minutes, so you never miss a thing. Wrike Social Media Performance Page

That’s a huge benefit—it means project managers don’t need to manually collect and input data from multiple sources to draw meaningful insight. Less time on busy work means more time analyzing the data for patterns, trends, and inefficiencies.

This feature is also great for project managers who are juggling multiple projects. They get a real-time overview of project statuses, team workloads, pending approvals, and tasks waiting to be assigned, so they can easily prioritize work and make meaningful progress.

Customizable Forms

Wrike has a custom form builder that you can use to create almost any kind of form—from simple team surveys to content request forms.

Wrike Forms

Wrike’s forms are fully customizable, and you can take advantage of role-based access controls to grant or deny access to certain pages or sections. Plus, when you create a new form, it can automatically assign tasks, set due dates based on the submission date, and populate subtasks.

Enterprise-level project management tools

Wrike offers advanced project management tools that you can access on your Home workspace to help you measure key performance indicators.

These tools include time tracking to assist in managing billable hours, visualizing cost and budget calculations, and business intelligence to assess project risk. While these tools are particularly useful for large enterprises with complex needs and a variety of teams, they can also be beneficial for small businesses that plan to scale.

In addition, the platform allows you to share files and publish assets with enterprise-grade security. The sheer number of features may be overwhelming for teams new to project managers, but Wrike provides great walkthroughs and tutorials. You may even discover features by accident that end up accelerating your workflows.

Wrike Revenue Page

Wrike offers pre-built templates based on team roles to simplify task creation. Some of these templates include:

Wrike Tamplates
  • Project performance templates
  • OKR templates
  • Weekly to-do list templates
  • Kanban board project templates
  • Agile and IT templates
  • Content operations templates
  • Quarterly business review templates
  • Ticketing and help desk templates

Collaboration Tools

Wrike—like most project management tools—is designed to make it easier to collaborate with your teams.

All team members have access to a global or project-based live stream of task activity, so nobody is left behind. Team members can easily communicate on specific tasks via comments and notes so that conversations are kept organized. Shared team calendars can be added to the dashboard to help with awareness of progress and submission dates. Wrike Collaboration page

You can also invite third parties such as clients, vendors, or contractors, at no extra cost, to view the status of their projects and provide input that goes towards successful project completion.

Wrike Use Cases

Wrike’s use cases are quite impressive. Over 20,000 companies in over 140 countries have relied on Wrike to streamline their planning processes. These are companies that span a range of industries, including:

  • SaaS
  • Technology
  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • financial services
  • Construction
  • Manufacturing
  • Retail

What makes Wrike stand out from other project management platforms?

Wrike’s easy-to-create (and even easier-to-understand) Gantt chart view sets it apart from many other popular project management platforms. Plus, Wrike offers a range of other views, such as List, Board, Table, File, and Timelog. While this isn’t unique to Wrike, it isn’t super common to have that much flexibility,

Wrike Campaign Page

Overall, Wrike’s differentiating factor is the ease with which you can use it to manipulate project data to gain new perspectives and insights.

Wrike Pricing

Wrike offers a total of five plans, starting from a basic Free option, all the way up to an advanced Pinnacle option for large enterprises with complex needs. Paid plans start at $9.80 per user per month, making Wrike’s pricing a bit more expensive than most other project management tools.

Here’s a breakdown of the plans: Wrike Pricing page

  • Free: Wrike’s free plan is suitable for small teams that are just starting with project management software. However, it has limited feature options, including 2 GB of storage space, and excludes Gantt charts, time-tracking, and many customization tools. The number of active tasks for a free plan is also limited to 200, which can be limiting even for small teams.
  • Team: This plan starts at $9.80 per user per month and is tailored for small teams that want to plan and collaborate on projects. Fortunately, this plan does include the Gantt chart view, 2 GB of storage per person, and the option to integrate with a wide range of services.
  • Business: Priced at $24.80 per user per month, this plan provides access to advanced project management tools. The Business plan has everything you may need for project management for a large team (up to 200 people), with 5 GB of storage per person.
  • Enterprise: The Enterprise plan does not have a stipulated price because Wrike will draw up a plan depending on your business needs. It is a plan to consider for large businesses that require more security controls.
  • Pinnacle: This plan is for large businesses with complex work needs, including billable hours tools, job roles, and tools for planning and tracking effort put into different projects. It comes with 15 GB of storage per person.

Pros and Cons of Wrike

Pros:

  • Wrike offers plans for everyone, from small teams to large corporations.
  • Real-time analytics are updated every 15 minutes.
  • Wrike offers department-specific solutions which help different departments across your business align and communicate projects on one platform.
  • Special customization is available for professional services and marketing and creative teams.
  • Wrike offers training resources to help you get started on the platform.
  • The free plan offers up to 2 GB of storage.
  • It supports eight languages.

Cons:

  • Although the project dashboards are user-friendly, those new to project management software may find Wrike overwhelming due to the wide array of features.
  • Wrike’s costs can be a burden for mid-sized teams – there are cheaper project management tools with roughly equivalent features.
  • Many of Wrike’s useful advanced features are offered as add-ons that can effectively double the price of the tool.
  • The mobile app is not as user-friendly as other project management apps (e.g., Click Up). Managing tasks from the mobile app is not as smooth as using a desktop, and you may find that you’re unable to move and edit tasks.
  • The interactive Gantt chart view is only available in the paid plans.
  • The time-tracking in-app timer is only available on the Business plan and higher, and even small collaborative teams should be able to benefit from this feature.

Is Wrike right for your business?

Wrike is a comprehensive project management platform that also functions as a collaborative work management tool, making it ideal for businesses of all sizes. If you offer professional services or are part of a marketing or creative team, you can certainly benefit from Wrike’s highly customizable features.

It’s important to note that Wrike can be a bit pricey—especially with add-ons. Plus, it may be a bit overpowered for small teams who are looking for simple project management capabilities. That said, it’s a solid tool for managing multiple departments and complex projects.

If you want more insight and information into other project management software, Findstack has more helpful reviews you can take a look at.

"Good, if clunky, management software. "
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike has a lot of good features to it such as custom dashboards, assigning projects and tasks, and really it just has anything you think you may need for a PM software.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Despite Wrikes usability it does have flaws. The most apparently and glaring is its ease-of-use and not being very intuitive. It's a lot like learning to drive a car. It seems simple at first, then you realize it's a little harder than 16 year old you realizes, then once you learn it you realize how much it all makes sense. It's just getting you and your team over that hurdle.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Once the team understands the platform assigning and sorting tasks becomes a breeze and really cuts down on the internal communications and meetings. That's pretty invaluable.

"Specifications at a high level"
What do you like best about Wrike?

1. It has Gantt diagrams which was what most caught my attention 2. It has its own document editor which facilitates my work 3. Preliminary view of all the works before shipment 4. Has the ability to integrate with several app to automate tasks 5. Your mobile application is helpful when I'm not in front of my office computer 6. Customer service with prompt response to messages sent giving solution in a very satisfactory way

What do you dislike about Wrike?

The annual billing is to say that it does not arrive every month and the year is paid once in advance, something that I do not like because the receipt arrives with a high cost for the whole year to which I prefer to be paying month after month with that it would not arrive accumulated and although they are monthly comfortable prices it would be good to have the option of how one would like to pay if annual or monthly

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Undoubtedly, it has very productive tools that help the work to decrease in a good enough way to dedicate time to other things in the work that can not be automated or that require better surveillance and more dedication, but in general I think it is a good platform for managing Projects

"My work is more planned and organized"
What do you like best about Wrike?

Your option to add tasks in several folders, makes me have an order of what I really want to do and what I need to distribute to have a project that advances in optimal conditions It is a work tool that has been very useful for project management, with which I can easily control the general progress that is being made to see if it will be ready for the day of delivery

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Wrike seems to me the best software that can be in the project management solution because it makes everything easier to do, it has absolutely all the tools that I need to manage each project, it does not lack anything, they created this software that they have thought about each tool that would serve for all tasks and I have it in one place

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has a project planning with the delivery dates stipulated from the beginning to know from the beginning how much time there is for the realization of the project and have the idea of whether the work will be intense or with enough time for the realization of each one

"Wrike you must use it."
What do you like best about Wrike?

The interface I like since it is intuitive and very easy to manipulate, its mobile application and its desktop application is very useful. It is also excellent that they can be added to multiple projects with multiple people and different observers. The view of the calendar helps to have a planning in advance of busy times. Another positive feature is that since the navigator works well, no downloads are needed.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

The search function seems to be collapsed when results are obtained, in addition to providing too many updates when working on a project. Adding that it is significantly large with many features, so it may cost your training at the beginning. The costs can be high if you want to add full licenses and constant notifications are extremely overwhelming. It would be nicer to put buttons more strategically.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

This program Wrike is being used in Agro Zaffiro LLP to manage various projects, request tasks and their continuous monitoring, thus addressing several solutions in the administration, information and review of the tasks performed. In addition to having utility as a tool for marketing approval and its respective creation in volume of personalized projects.

"Wrike - A friendly tool for project management"
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike guarantees multiple functions of quality, with a high percentage of security and quality, providing an exclusive and ideal support to solve any inconvenience that may arise. It allows easy communication between colleagues, which is incredible for the correct transmission of documents, information and important data. On the other hand, their complete tools contribute to a better management of the projects, with the labeling, the notes, the categorization and the ease of personalization, everything is much simpler.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Initially, for new users of Wrike it can be difficult to adapt to the appropriate usage and customization settings, which requires a lot of time, dedication and training to learn how to correctly handle all the data. On the other hand, the software has worked efficiently, with very complete tools that are executed in a professional manner, we are satisfied with the experience and we do not find any feature that we do not like.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Wrike has been our guidance tool and our exceptional support to follow the correct path to the completion and scope of each of our projects and objectives. Significantly, we have been able to log in and keep track of pending tasks, missing requirements, deadline events and obtain the information we have stored. Everything from a tool that has kept us organized work and projects guided by an excellent path.

"A good program as a whole."
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike has allowed us to easily organize, group and assign projects to us. It is easy to create a task and assign it to yourself or someone else, set dates, change priorities, add attachments, links, format text in your task description. The dashboards are nice, you can monitor your team's projects to make sure everything is moving along, and easily step in and request help.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

No shared calendar option to view tasks on daily/monthly basis for resources and see their availability. User needs to be connected to internet all time and can't work locally.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

"A collaboration tool with very useful features"
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike has tools that are geared towards effective collaborations for large teams. We can keep track of virtually every detail of our projects and keep everyone aware and accountable of project activities and due dates. The account portal has a neat and clean design that makes it easy to navigate the platform. I like how various elements sync together so we can see tasks and their status in different perspectives.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

The overall pricing is higher compared to several of the other collaboration tools we considered. Since there are so many tools and potentially so much data to manage for certain projects, it can be complex to use this system properly for new users. Even after reading some overview articles on Wrike, I still needed to take some time to use it in order to learn how to make it work for me best.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our company uses Wrike to help create plans of action and to stay on task for completing them. It's a centralized resource that we can all connect to for project information and to ask and answer questions about issues that may arise. Wrike has been a very well-rounded platform that allows us to input and track a full range of data related to projects such as task assignments, due dates and budgets.

"Wrike - What Powers the Backend to our Agency"
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike is a powerful organizational tool that allows us to directly proof, approve, and inform team members of changes to any particular production.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Wrike has its challenges, mostly on the end-user experience as some clients have difficulty learning the platform to approve projects and requires one-on-one training most of the time.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our issues were solved by implementing Wrike over three years ago when we noticed a severe problem with follow-ups and information being passed to upper management. In a short period of time we were able to solve a plethora of problems from lack of follow ups to files being lost and updated.

What do you like best about Wrike?

What do you dislike about Wrike?

One of the aspects that remains to this application is that it is not so easy to learn to use it, there are tutorials and documents that allow you to know more, but simplicity is sometimes the best weapon

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

"One of the best Project management tool out there!"
What do you like best about Wrike?

I have used a few different programs to track projects and activities. I have found Wrike to be a good solution for our team. Wrike lets us set up and assign tasks very easily to complete projects. By listing out the activities we can e can project completion dates The user interface allows me to work exactly the way I want. The projects and activities are highly customization and can be viewed in multiple different views. Tagging is useful for quickly linking different projects or tasks. You can also log the hours you put into a certain activity or project. Tasks can be created under project and sub task can be created under under each task to share with appropriate team. The different view allow the user to view each project in a view that best fits the activities. I personally use the tasks to take notes on my meetings and calls.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

It is a good tool that does its job. The design is good overall but it is quite expensive per user as the team size increases. One of the drawbacks are that there is no shared calendar for teams to use. I wish there were more resources online to train people on how to use Wrike.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Helps me keep my teams updated on the progress of projects. Gives visibility to users and helps us better manage our workload. Overall it has been a life saver.

"Great Project management tool!"
What do you like best about Wrike?

Intuitive user interface that is extremely easy to use. I have used multiple tools like Monday, Microsoft project but nothing has all the features that wrike offers. The drag and drop Folder and Project functionality allow for nesting projects inside folders and create a totally customizable flow. Wrike let's you set it up, the way you want to organize it either by project, client or team member. The tag function is something that is super useful, not to mention the various analytics, reports etc. The dashboard and report feature helps you track activities by the assignee or by the project. The stream function is super useful. The on cloud application means I don't always need to download it when I access it from computers other than my own.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Too many features wish there were more resources out there for training. Also what would be helpful is a chat feature among users. Could improve the calendar and add APIs to integrate with the outlook calendar. The reporting feature is lacking, would love to have an option to auto-generate and email reports weekly. Project sharing needs to be more intuitive.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Wrike helped me organize my work and be more up to date on project progress. I use Wrike daily at work and it gives me full visibility and control over my daily tasks. I love the Timeline view with all tasks spread through the time. Has given me better visibility to tasks and activities in real time.

"Great tool for small teams!"
What do you like best about Wrike?

Easy to use and highly customization. Allows tracking of projects by time. Plenty of integrations with other tools, my favorite being the outlook add in. Has a free plan for someone who'd prefer to try it out before they get a paid plan. Wrike offers mobile apps for Android and iOS. On both platforms, the app is optimized to work on tablets and smartphones. Wrike is unique with respect to other similar applications because it is not just a project management tool. It also functions as a work management tool, which is slightly different. You can also track individual activities not just projects. You can create sub folders for Folders. Projects can be created within folders. You can create a folder for a specific department, all projects and work for that department can be stored in subfolders and projects.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Expensive and the interface could be counter intuitive at times. It is slightly on the expensive side compared to the other collaborative software. It does not have a built in chart app that is necessary for work collaboration tools. It is lacking as a work management tool.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Helps my team track time spent on a project and evaluate workloads in real time. Has made collaboration easier. Great because of quick set up and excellent integration with other APIs helps in generating reports that can be used in meeting. I have used Wrike to better manage my meetings.

"Project Management Simplified "
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike makes it very easy to create a project, assign elements to team members, and communicate.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

The deadlines can be difficult to monitor unless you are using it daily.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Wrike is a critical software for our team. We've been using it for years and have never found anything comparable. It is easy to set up and simple to learn. Wrike also doesn't charge for collaborators. The key to success for any project is understanding all the pieces. Wrike makes that easy.

"Excellent for Gmail users."
What do you like best about Wrike?

I use mail tracker from Gsuit that is available free as well as with monthly plans for more features. It is an amazing tool for me as I am a Recruiter and I send many emails to passive/active candidates. It is directly integrated with Gmail so there is no need to set up separately or sign up.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

I wish there was a more clear demo for other Gsuite products.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Wrike is useful for managing small tasks for small projects. It helps stay more organised.
