InVision's strengths are in its ease of use and integrations that help us streamline our work from Sketch all the way to JIRA. InVision is well maintained and investments are being made in a suite of features, although we have mostly stuck to the core prototyping and collaboration features. They are great to work with on the support and account side of the house as well.
The downsides of InVision are the lack of great prototype file organization and groupings, and outages have happened here and there.
InVision has allowed our design team to easily collaborate and review work, share prototypes with stakeholders and users for research, and made the handoff to engineers and product delivery teams a breeze!
The Liveshare feature is the best thing I liked. The application supports every kind of files starting from .jpg, .gif, to .png but also PSDs and AIs files so you are operative in less than a minute. I like also the "comment mode" area, the abiity to add comments to designs, the ability to start simple threads and the ability to mark as "completed" a conversation. I also like to use the application with Sketch app, they works very good together.
It's takes some time to load resources when the app starts. When I started in using Invision I had some problems in figuring out multiple hotspots and various options that could be done with them. The application is not customizable when embed into website. The free version allows users to upload as many projects as they want but if you want to delete something you need to upgrade to premium version. Syncs from sketch are not in order. Some placeholders don't work as expected.
The main goal in using InVision is to fast prototypes by using screens with end-to-end users.
I started using InVision back in 2015; back then it was just a prototyping platform. But now it has grown out to be an all encompassing solution; from brainstorming/mood-boarding (freehand), designing (InVision studio), prototyping/handoff (Prototype/Craft), to sustainable design scalability (DSM). In short, the entire InVision ecosystem provides a much needed end to end solution for UX/UI designers
There is a it of a learning curve involved in understanding all aspects such as freehand etc. but their faqs and tutorials makes learning easier.
InVision is a top notch all in one solution, and the fact it's free (for basic use) makes it so accessible.
I really enjoy the integrations it has with sketch and other software. The sketch integrations (with the Craft) plugin is the most useful, since Sketch allows for interaction points to be set and designs are able to be automatically uploaded along with those interaction points.
Searching mockups is not always accurate. I have found when searching my mockups within InVision it doesn't always come up with the mockup cards relevant to the search.
Collaboration, streamlining product design feedback and workflow.
The number one thing - it saves me from the days when I needed to send JPEGS to my clients with the designs and where each JPEG to be indifferent hights people would see it very zoomed out. inVision has created a tool where you can preview JPEGS in a web-like form and allows you to link it all together as if it were a real website. The ease of exporting to inVision from Sketch is absolutely great! I love the inspect element function that allows developers to just see the style of everything without me having to babysit them during every step of the development. The same applies for the assets exporting too - straight to inVision directly from sketch.
inVision's customer account service is not great, I was paying for my steam account and then wanted to transfer ownership but they just left me doing that on my own regardless that I was a paying customer.
Better presenting the designs to my clients by allowing them to click through the website as if it was real. Not having to deal with cutting and cropping graphics for the developers or providing them with the style details of all the design elements.
Love that it supports @2x + and I really like how easy it is to make prototypes and it’s incredibly easy to send them to your device via SMS
I wish there were more advanced prototyping options like swipe actions etc. Most importantly to overlay gifs and video
Prototyping and the ability to share with a wider audience and would be great to have an improved feedback feature or implement more features from something like usertesting.com
I like that Invision has made it easier for my company to share wireframe & mockup prototypes with our clients. This tool allows us to show the client the user experience without having to flesh out the whole site in development.
I really wish that Invision had an Adobe illustrator and Adobe XD integration.
Before we had Invision we never had a great way to share our mockups to the client. We would have to save out all of the pages into a PDF which made it a nightmare to show the client the full user experience.
I love that the interface matches Adobe products like Photoshop and Illustrator so it's easy to quickly build designs using elements and layers.
I find it difficult to quickly share my project with clients and teammates through a public URL link.
InVision makes it so easy to design interactive web pages in a much more dynamic way than Photoshop or Illustrator. They provide easy to use tools that reduce design time almost in half!
Invision is one of the best software for sharing and making prototypes, it is so easy to use and understand for any novice, the prototypes are also interactive which is more exciting for the clients to see. They also have feature for user testing and collecting information after the design is all ready this is specially very good as you do not need to use another software again for testing. Invision also has an option to make mood boards which is also helpful for showing to clients all in one place and it also supports GIFs. Invision has also come up with InVision studio which is such a wonderful product on its own. There is soo much scope with invision studio, it is better than all the other designing software as one can also animate and prototype within. The best part is that it is FREE, who does not love FREE products.
There is nothing much that i dislike in Invision as i regularly use it and love it. I think maybe a few things which can be added as another product is maybe project management although they already have task management but project management will help alot. I think they should start prototypes for AR/VR and MR too as these are the new medias. This will help them to capture the future market too.
Invision helps me to design better products with immediate feedback from clients through the comments sections and also user testing with their additional feature of user testing.
InVision is multifunctional, it allows me to do more things than I can mention, I can design, build a prototype, share everything I want, try designs and develop all the business potential with the designs of our presentation to the world. I can achieve my job of finding new ways and ways to achieve a perfectly representative image of our product and InVision has everything to be able to achieve it.
The software can be generally a bit complex to use, the interface has cost me a bit to understand it completely. I need to integrate other applications to work properly, and in doing everything becomes extremely slow and heavy, I would like that problem to be solved because the use of InVision is really important for the work I do.
InVision has allowed us to achieve a fresh and new image of what we really offer in the market. It is an effective tool that has given me the possibility of obtaining, through various designs and thanks to which I can share them, a much greater scope and thus reach many potential and active clients. In an authentic way, it has enabled us to creatively create, administer and design our image to the world.
Quick and easy to learn. Shorten learning curve
Nothing really hmm prob their price,,???
Clickable prototype made the whole process valueable
Ability to share multiple projects cross-platform, free-hand is a great tool for stakeholders, and inspect is wonderful when communicating design specs to developers. Life is much easier now that there is a one-stop shop. This tool is great for both small and large organizations.
Before the launch of studio, it required a lot of external plugins from Sketch to sync designs to Invision automatically.
Invision allows me to communicate prototypes for feedback to clients, leadership and various stakeholders in the organization. Additionally, it is the single tool that our web and mobile developers use to consume final design and flows.
I love the hot spots and history of the viewers, I use the history portion to find out who on the team has viewed the project and when. I like knowing who has viewed my project, and who is commenting. I love that they have launched their own version of Sketch/Photoshop called Studio and I recently got the beta, it's amazing. Love that I can just open my old files right in the new program. I like the new darker back ground and the plug-in integration.
Not too many downsides to this program. When exporting links to end users, the page is slow to load.
Sharing prototypes with people outside of my network is the best benefit. I don't have to worry about providing links to download software to interact with my prototype. Its all viable from a computer with an internet connection.
Best aspect of InVision - it's an all in one suite for prototyping. I really enjoy being able to prototype and collaborate with my team from one program. InVision's inspect has also made it easier when I am sending designs to developers. Our team definitely works faster thanks to this tool.
I would love to see more tutorials within the software or web application directly vs having to navigate to a specific section of the site with tutorials.
InVision has resolves any issues our team has previously had in terms of communication between design and development. It's easier to prototype designs with it and it's very easy to share with users or testers.
