It's helpful to have a place for all the files needed to support our mission while working for a large institution. The files are easy to share and allow multiple people to edit at once. Also, given the transient nature of work in the past few years, it's imperative to access files wherever we are.
The processes can, at times, feel laborious. For example, in the previous version, sharing a file took multiple steps. Thankfully, Box is constantly improving its UX and has begun adding shortcuts. I look forward to their continual improvement.
The most significant improvement I have seen in our efficiency has been collaborating in real-time. We no longer need to wait for a summary of minutes and a follow-up meeting to create a product because we can do it together during our sessions.
Box is easy to use with drag drop, upload dialogs, and file system extensions. The sharing system with defaults and user management is also elegent. Lots of integration and administrator tools make it a deep product.
One word, search. I don't know what challenges face the developers but they have not been overcome yet. I have been unable to find things I know I personally uploaded. Other times I can filter and search perfectly. So it's no disaster but needs more work yet.
Emailing large files. Central repository for file editing. Archiving. Basically anything with files. Does not have the concurrent editing that teams and google docs offer but otherwise does everything you'd want with file management.
It's so easy to access - you have the view online and download options. You can also make comments on documents workspaces and work together at the same time in different places.
I'm not too fond of the constant redirection and multiple clicks before accessing my document.
We are creating accessible documents and saving them up in box. It's easy for anyone to access, and it's so secure.
I like how sharing large files is easy and smooth, not too complicated of a process. Where email limits you, Box can be easily organized to fit any need your business has.
The design is fairly bare bones, but I don't need Box to be anything more than it is from a design perspective. I can't really pinpoint any specific thing that I wish Box could do differently.
When I have to share a large file with a client or a third party, I can make sure that only they are able to see it and it won't be accessible to anyone outside of their organization.
Box is robust cloud storage application. Its developed to sync all you devices. Sharing of files among users in bulk way is available in Box application. Simultaneously working of a document among users is well developed in Box application and its very secure.
So far it have been smooth and good.No complain when using Box application.
Box application is very stable cloud application having very minimal downtimes. Its very secure especially when sharing files and its accessible from any place.
What I like the best about this product was it is accessible anywhere and wherever you are. We use this tool to store all our files and folders for our job. It is where we keep all our inventories as well.
What I dislike about this product was sometimes, whenever we load some documents in it, it fails. So, we need to start all over again and wait for it to be successful.
Uploading a large number of files on this product takes time. To have it resolved, we upgraded our bandwidth to accommodate the uploading of many files on the box.
We switched to box because it offered more storage at a much better price. It's ease of use is probably the best part about it. We use box to share large files with customers and subcontractors and even our clients. In the construction world most of the files we send are large and this has given us a clean easy way to share them. It doesn't take hours worth of training to learn how to use the program. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking.
There really isn't anything to dislike about box. I haven't run into any complaints honestly.
Many of the files that we have to send are very large. We sent blueprints back and forth all day every day and prior to box that was very difficult to do. Now we simply save the file to box and generate a link to share with as many people as needed. It's secure and simple and doesn't cause anyone we send the links to any headaches.
the power of centralizing information and sharing documents
It is the most powerful tool for sharing information.
In pandemic times, centralizing information is crucial for employees. Sharing documentation enables remote work.
Box is a user-friendly way to sync files. My favorite thing about it is the ease of use and knowledge my files will be stored and safe.
It can be not very clear to set up Box Sync.
I am utilizing Box for the storage and syncing of files among multiple parties. I have realized how easy it is to have a universal place to store files for many people to see them.
You don't have to bother about the versioning system. You upload a new version, and you will always find the latest.
The file-sharing options could have been a bit more user-friendly. For example, I observed the sharing link gets inaccessible to users at times.
Organizing files and folders, online collaboration with other team members, review and edit files online has become pretty more accessible.
The thing I like most about box is that the nesting feature they have always me to organize all my folders easily. I also think the search function works really well.
I don't like the permission asking capability of this product. I wish that when someone requested access. There was a different trigger that sent a different email with a better link for allowing users. I wish I could see more information in the email instead of having to go in the app.
I have solved some organization problems and I am able to link my documents through email well. I also like the ease of access, the intuitive interface, and the general usability is great.
This was a less expensive alternative with more space than the previous service we were using. It doesn't lack any of the bells and whistles and makes collaboration easy. We use this for huge files and it's been a great way of sharing information.
The one complaint that I have is that the box sync doesn't really seem to work all of the time. I downloaded it to my work computer and it only seems to connect with some folders. It makes saving file to box a little clunkier than I'd like sometimes.
Sending large files is a breeze with box. Email systems can't handle large blueprints like we use all day every day so this has been a great solution that gets file to the people that need them when they need them.
I really love the simplicity of Box. I have both a salaried position at a startup company and I also own a small mechanical design consulting service on the side. I use Box for all my storage for both jobs, and I can keep it all in one place very easily. The desktop application makes it very easy to find the files locally on my computer and open them on multiple devices easily.
Sometimes Box does not sync immediately and I have to quit the application and restart in order to ensure that I am accessing the most recent copy of my documents on another source. That can be difficult when trying to do things quickly and efficiently.
I am easily solving the largest problem, which is data storage. It is extremely easy to ensure that all my data is saved and backed up. I have found an additional benefit to be how easy it is to use compared to Google Drive Backup & Sync or iCloud. It is very simple to use and makes for the easiest cloud storage option out there - and it's free!
I really like how Box lets us set up private and sharable files even when intermixed in the same folders. It makes sharing essential things with customers far less confusing with no danger of exposing sensitive internal data. Uploads and downloads are both lighting fast.
I have not found a single shortcoming when it comes to Box.
We have several reoccurring weekly tasks that require assets from multiple departments. Box makes this all very simple as everything puts their part of the project into the appropriate folder. Then the person that deploys the assets has easy access without having to ask anyone for anything. If something is missing, no wondering who dropped the ball as everyone can see what part is missing by simply looking in the folder.
The best thing I like is Security and Compliance, which will protect your data from threats. The easy to use feature make it very pleasant for end user. Many types of files formats are supported. You can track the history of any of your document. You can take meeting notes, oraganize reviews and collaborate on project plans in real time from any device. Integration with other applications is very handy. There are major apps such as Adobe, Microsoft, Google, IBM, ServiceNow, Oracle and lot more who proides extenstion to Box. The user can manage the access and security from an admin console that gives you full visibility and control. The pricing is also crucial part for any of the customer. Box is provided with very minimal cost accourding to business needs of any organization.
I feel there are some improvements needed in the Graphical User Interface.
It is helpful for collaboration with teams. Sharing the documents and files is very easy here.
I love that you're about to use the application across all devices from Mac to PC to Android and iPhone which makes it more adaptable and easy to use of your sharing content with multiple people.
I haven't located and found anything that I dislike about the application outside of if your searching for it on a device for the application and you have another app with "box" in the name it pulls up as well.
I've solved my device storage issue without paying for device-specific cloud storage and I also have a product I can lock and secure as well.
With Box plugin, we would be able to access the files in file explorer just like it is saved in my own local machine. Very useful for automations and development.
Some plugins are not available to access the different files.
We use Box for our Robotic Process Automation project work with Box Plugin. This helps us to quickly picksup files from any domain and process it securely within network.
Box allows for versioning content--so if there are typos, updates, branding refreshes, whatever you need with easy file stacking.
Not much with Box itself--if there were one thing to add, it'd be coloring for folders/backgrounds for familiarity & recognition with certain file locations.
Storage and delivery to clients is made very easy with external sharing (and limited permissions for them to be unable to edit, though still able to download)
It's quite easy to use and more secured as compared to its peers.
They can enhance the User Interface more attractive.
Storing - PPT's, Notes, Excels, Customised information which we use in our day-to-day work.
Ease of document sharing Secured file sharing by setting permissions Box Drive to synch up cloud content on your local system
Search function has a lot of scope for improvements The web interface is not that much customizable to different user needs. If the files names are longer, we cannot make the file name columns little widers
Content management Document sharing Ease of offline synching using Box Drive Privacy management by setting diferrent permissions
