ActiveCampaign is an integrated marketing tool that easily automates email marketing strategies and creates targeted campaigns. While automated marketing is a core component of the system, ActiveCampaign is a powerful tool that can do so much more. The software is known for being able to deliver a personalized experience across all customer touchpoints, track buyer behavior and preferences, customize send-outs, and gather data from every stage of the customer lifecycle, just to name a few.

The powerful data insights make it extremely helpful to gauge what is and isn't working.
The thing I least enjoy about ActiveCampaign is their app. Wish it had more features that are available on the desktop version.
ActiveCampaign has tremendously helped my company get a strong start on our email marketing efforts.
I like that ActiveCampaign has the ability to segment customers, create contact forms, and send emails in a well-thought-out way. We recommend ActiveCampaign to all of our clients and partners as we believe it to be reliable and have used it since 2015. Before using ActiveCampaign, we struggled, fiddling with platforms like MailChimp with hard-to-understand verbiage and user interfaces. When we discovered ActiveCampaign, everything changed. We can create fields and forms with ease - and it integrates well with other software we use. We love ActiveCampaign!
Sometimes, the styling of forms is difficult to modify which can require you to have a little extra CSS knowledge to get it to match your website style. Also, occasionally the platform lags a bit when loading main pages. We've found this to be intermittent and the benefits out-weigh this aspect.
We're sending monthly offers to our subscribers, building systems for our clients to help drive in-store sales, and improving business reviews with review follow up systems.
I love that after a 90 minute presentation, I knew how to create a welcome series and send emails to my list.
I don't like that the basic package now does not let you eliminate the ad on your forms, though this isn't a big deal.
I can email my list any time and set automatic campaigns so I'm not manually emailing all the time.
The easy way to build funnels and the rich features we can use for segmenting and communicating with the list.
Sometimes it getting slow and sometimes there are problems with the editor. For example I made 2 links inside the email and one for no reason will be black rather than blue. After I delete the link and put again the link color will be fine again.
Building list and making funnels with it.
I love how easy it is to tag, segment, and set up complex drip campaigns with ActiveCampaign. Out of every tool I've used, it makes the most sense in this department and is the easiest to use.
I'm not fond of the fact that you have to set up complex rules to get the platform to operate more like a CRM.
ActiveCampaign has had a high delivery rate for me and I find that I get really high open rates as well, while I notice that other people on platforms like MailChimp and Squarespace's email seem to end up more often in promotions or spam. Having high deliverability is helping me get more customers for my services.
Great results with automation! Saves tons of time! Works great with the click funnel I created with help of HBA! Easy to see reports over a desired time period. Easy to create subgroups within campaigns.
I wish I had used a Gmail instead of work email to create an account. Looks like easier to automate with the Gmail account linked!
Keeping potential clients engaged via campaigns. Messages come directly to my inbox!
ActiveCampaign allows you to create lists, tags and segment your subscribers easily. You can build visual automations with conditional logic that help you provide value and generate sales at scale.
The early plans are a little prohibitive for beginners—with no free plan and only 500 subscribers on the first tier. But I believe they are just attracting their ideal customers and repelling those who aren’t. Would love to see the first tier bumped up to 1,000 to help the little guy though!
Building a relationship with my subscribers without spending time with each one personally. This is important to do because the know, like and trust factor is crucial in ascending customers up your value ladder.
I love using the automations and segmentation features. I know what my audience is interested in and what they are ‘meh’ about.
There is just so much here that the learning curve is steep. I’m still learning and I’m 4 months in. I just signed up for one of the Study Hall events to go deeper with the functions and capabilities.
Understanding my audience much better. I’m also building relationships more easily through the automations.
What I like best is the capability the software provides, then it is the ease of use, then it is the amazing customer support - while there seems to be an order here, they are all three what I like best.
Wow, What do I dislike? My answer here in no way represents the company but rather more my ability to quickly comprehend the volumes of "startup" information needed to implement the product. If I were to make a recommendation it would be to have videos available on topics or groups of topics rather than something to read, or in addition to reading.
I am not solving any problems, I am however now able to create a very comprehensive marketing program whereby I can gather new prospects, a track from whence they came, and communicate with them in a manner which they prefer on topics they have an interest in, thus potentially increasing my sales rate. Also, I can poll my current clients to better build relationships, and maintain better contact with them as well as keep them informed about upcoming events.
I love the layouts of the campaigns and how easy it is to see your workflows.
I wish the webpages were a little more robust
We have fix our work flows and can really see where each member is going. It has been great to feel so confident in the platform.
How easy the steps are I actually learned most of the steps by myself!
That I cant copy email adresses easily it will be common between lists
reaching many of my followers and being able to check on them frequently
I have been with Active Campaign for years and I have tried others but even when my software (for example course creation) is bundled with email messaging, I still use Active Campaign. It's easy to use, yet has a lot of bells and whistles - enough for larger corporations. I love that it is compatible with many 3rd party applications.
I don't think I have any dislikes about it.
I am able to segment my list which is a real plus, and use conditional triggers.
Ability to easily automate marketing & sales processes. Great interface and shallow learning curve. Easy to scale & train team members to execute on. A good suite of features & functionality.
Can be expensive when working with a large contact list. Has some limitations with data collection & assessment. Like all platforms - It does have a few nuances that require workarounds (but these certainly aren't deal-breakers).
Consistent Email Marketing Improving Sales Performance Marketing Automation Sales Automation Tracking Customer Journey Increasing Productivity Managing Leads
The customer support and help with setting it up. It's been exceptional so far.
I wish I could integrate the pop-up form with my website but can't seem to find a way.
Saving time with sending out emails and tagging clients. Setting up forms and landing pages. Ease of use compared to Mailchimp has been a revelation.
The marketing automation is brilliant (especially email marketing).
The pipelines and the tasks could be a bit more thought-through. It is not best if you have salespeople in your office who should just work through a lead list and schedule follow-ups.
We use it to automate all email communication around our software. Their "triggering" system is great, and you can initiate personal automation paths when another event takes place in your software.
Active Campaign is relatively simple and perfect for my business needs. I set up a Lead Magnet within a day and was able to have easy access to creating new chain emails!
It is a little technical but the team is super awesome and helpful to get everything you need for success!
This allowed me to create a Lead Magnet that will keep my audience coming back for more! It easily allows me to keep track of communications without using my email!
As a solo entrepreneur, I am doing everything and trying to be as professional as possible - active campaign makes that easy. My emails look legit and I feel like a real business.
It's a lot, don't get me wrong. Active Campaign can do a lot and there is a lot of possibility with email campaigns and automations, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's me catching up with all the capabilities of the program.
I had no idea how email automation worked before I started with Active Campaign, I am just dipping my toe in and figuring it out as I go. It's nice to have a program that can walk me through the basics yet can do so much more!
I love AC because it's very user friendly, all-encompassing, and has exactly what I need for my email marketing platform.
The price. I've been meaning to switch to flowdesk because it's a flat rate per month. I'm almost paying $200 which is more than any other platform I use in my business.
Funnel automation, email blasts, great metrics. The benefits are that as I'm scaling I need more and more automation and funnels, which AC works perfectly for me.
Support staff is readily available via chat
a few hiccups so far, but can't remember
I like the automations feature... they are really robust.
I like the variety of triggers for automation.
There's a learning curve for setting up.
With Active Campaign, I'm making sure the right client gets the right email at the right time.
