"Our Client's Love Being Implemented Using Rocketlane!"
What do you like best about Rocketlane?

The interface of the product is extremely intuitive. Getting Rocketlane up and running was a breeze. I especially loved the fact we learned best practices on how to use Rocketlane and different tips and tricks on onboarding/implementation methodologies as we went through implementing it for our own company. As we implemented Rocketlane, we got even more excited about the software because of the flawless implementation we received from Rocketlane's team. In addition to the software being great, our Onboarding CSM, Madhu Venkatesan, shared different approaches they've taken at Rocketlane to improve the time to value for their clients getting implemented on Rocketlane. We incorporated a lot of Madhu's suggestions into the onboarding/implementation journey we built and rolled out for implementing our clients on our software using Rocketlane. Since launching Rocketlane, our clients have provided extremely positive feedback around our onboarding experience and a number of clients have inquired about what PSA software we are using. All around we are very happy! Another thing we have loved has been the FREE customer onboarding & implementation community they have built called "Preflight". Being a member of the Preflight community gives you access to a Slack channel made up of members from all different types of companies, sizes, and industries. Preflight hosts educational webinars, office hours, and much more. It's an incredible resource we lean on frequently to get help from our peers whenever we're struggling with something and need ideas on how other companies have solved the same challenge(s) related to everything onboarding, implementation, and customer success.

What do you dislike about Rocketlane?

Up to this point, we really haven't found anything we dislike. One area of the product I recently identified that would be a "nice to have" is the ability to clone a task, phase, etc. from one "Project Template" to another already existing "Project Template". You are able to clone an entire "Template", but I don't believe you're able to clone specific portions of a template and add them to a different template. Additionally, it would be nice if you could clone tasks, phase, etc. from a "Template" into a "Project" you've already created (and also from an existing "Project" you've already created to a different "Project" you've already created as well). This would be a nice time saver when initially setting up your templates and for one-off tasks that may come up from time to time that you don't necessarily want to be included by default in every new project, but you want to have the option of adding into a project after the fact if needed. In speaking to Rocketlane's support team, it's my understanding they are working on this functionality and it should be available soon.

What problems is Rocketlane solving and how is that benefiting you?

Prior to having Rocketlane, we were managing our onboarding/implementation projects when getting a new client up and running on our software via HubSpot, spreadsheets, and email. We would attempt to track what was done and what needed to still be done, but always struggled to keep up. The worst part of our old process was the fact clients had little to no visibility of where they were on the journey. We would attempt to send recap emails and status update emails at the end of each call/week, but this often was missed because of the other manual steps that sucked up everyone's time. Now with Rocketlane, these tasks that were getting missed, are all automated! Clients have the ability to go into their project and see all of the tasks they are responsible for, what due dates are, what the status is for each task, etc. Since rolling Rocketlane out to our clients, it's been a night and day difference. Another challenge we used to have was the notion of "When is implementation DONE for each client?! It feels like every implementation goes into a state of purgatory and we never FINISH..". We struggled with clients feeling like there wasn't really a clear point where things wrapped up and they were "live". Since launching Rocketlane, we aren't having this issue anymore. We have clearly set milestones that we review with each client at the start of every project. We agree on timelines and update dates live on the call right in Rocketlane. Clients get frequent updates on the status of their project and know exactly where things stand at all times. The impact on our business and the positive results we are seeing with our clients are phenomenal!

"The Right Mix: Scheduling + Planning w/Durations and Dependencies + Forms + + +"
What do you like best about Rocketlane?

I've been in the software implementation space since about 2005. I've worked with many PM tools (or other tools that folks have forced into being PM tools (Smartsheet, Asana, Monday, Saviom, SAP, Wrike, ClickUp, Jira, etc.) and each of them has some piece that isn't exactly what Implementation (Onboarding) needs OR they do, but you have to buy it separately. Or they do, but their core product is clunky and requires to much admin support to set it up. Or they don't have a client facing portal. Or they don't have enough automation/repeatability withouth paying for extra API calls. Or they don't have a visual schedule. Or they don't have documentation storage. Or they charge thousands of dollars for an integration to another system. We are just getting ready to go live with Rocketlane, so I will update if anything changes, but frankly speaking, I have not found another tool that gives the right amount of functionality in the way that Rocketlane does. And I have spent what seems like a lifetime looking for a tool that is the right mix of scheduling/resource management, planning with durations and dependencies, integrations, smart forms, and a client facing portal. Rocketlane has these features, and more, as part of their core product. The Sales Process was just the right mix of 'here to help' while also giving me time and space to make the decisions I needed. Kaushik was lovely to work with during that process. During the sales cycle, we also had the opportunity to work with one of their Product team members, Madhu, who was very open to collaborating on one of our more unique use cases. Our Onboarding Lead, Rajesh has been very helpful during this process as well. We've even had some help from the Rocketlane team with our integrations. For a small team and company like mine, a tool like Rocketlane can be a signficant game changer. We already see other ways we could use the tool to improve our workflow outside of Implementations/Onboarding. We are very excited about the possibilities!

What do you dislike about Rocketlane?

It's not that we 'dislike' anything, per se. We do see some areas that could be improved and we beileve they will. As an example, in order for fields sync to work, you have to create an automation using a Salesforce object as a trigger to create a new project. Automation workflows are geared towards creating new projects only. We also can only seem to update 1 Salesforce Object per project. But these are things we can see solutions for already and so we think it's just a matter of time before those improvements are made. I do which there was a 'restricted use' type license at a lower cost that we could use for leadership -- folks that don't need to have their schedules managed but would benefit from being able to access Rocketlane OR would be folks we might want to fill out a form occasionally (like Sales) but aren't needed beyond that. That said, the cost of Rocketlane is also quite reasonable, so I don't have big feelings on that at this moment.

What problems is Rocketlane solving and how is that benefiting you?

We needed resource management, project management, client facing portal, smart forms, document storage / collaboration tools, and workflow improvements within the organization. Rocketlane has those features as part of the core product.

"A game changer for any onboarding team"
What do you like best about Rocketlane?

We needed the ability to track all of our onboarding for both internal purposes and to make onboarding even more transparent to our clients. Rocketlane was easy to set up, everyone we interacted with from the Rocketlane team was pleasant and helpful, and we are very impressed with the feature set available. This product is an incredible value for the price too. Everyone I've met on the Rocketlane team has been wonderful to work with and quick to help.

What do you dislike about Rocketlane?

There are a few integrations we were interested in that aren't quite there yet BUT Rocketlane is already working on those so we are not at all concerned. Other than that, we haven't found anything we dislike or find lacking so far. Anything we were unclear on they were more than willing to discuss with us to make sure we got the help we needed and were open to our feedback.

What problems is Rocketlane solving and how is that benefiting you?

Rocketlane solves for managing your onboarding projects more easily, and understanding your team's capacity. Both of these have been very helpful to our organization.

"Better Onboarding experience!"
What do you like best about Rocketlane?

I have used Rocketlane for a few months now and this tool is very well thought through and focused on onboarding collaboration with customers. - The product has been easy to use. - I love the customer view to see the project as a customer without having to have a customer-like account set up for internal users. This might not sound like a big deal but not understanding how your customer will experience the tool can create communication gaps and lead to onboarding failures.  - I like the approval process that helps aligns and sign off on goals and requirements with the customer. It is also useful for documenting any internal approvals on non-standard onboarding processes.  - Streamlining and visibility to customers on their accountability is great by having tasks assigned to them. - Ease of sending weekly status, though I feel we have not fully used this feature. - Lastly, the agility to take feedback and make product improvements has been an added advantage. The team is responsive and eager to hear feedback on the product and make meaningful improvements.

What do you dislike about Rocketlane?

There is nothing to dislike :-) but one thing that might benefit is the option to select more than one template to create a project plan based on multiple facets of the onboarding.

What problems is Rocketlane solving and how is that benefiting you?

Improve onboarding experience for both our customers and internal teams. Bring efficiency and predictability in onboarding new customers. Improve internal cross-functional teams and Customer communication and collaboration on the project. Visibility on project status to all stakeholders and executive team.

"The impact that a good onboarding engine has on Sales/Pre-Sales"
What do you like best about Rocketlane?

Before I get into what I like about this product I feel it is important to set the context of my roles which in turn will add more context to how Roketlane adds value. Having started as a Solutions consultant as part of the Pre-Sales team in 2019, Implementation & customer onboarding was part of my crucial everyday tasks. Now I am an Account executive in the Sales Org (Not your ideal target user of Onboarding and Project management tools) helping customers find the best solution. These are some of the key things I like about Roketlane from my perspective: 1. It's my source of truth for all Implementation/Onboarding related activities - Helps me keep an eye on the implementation progress of newly closed accounts. Makes it easier for me to plan the ideal check-in time with the customers to have a debrief and potentially source a case study. 2. Positive impact it has on our customers to know there is a dedicated platform used just to enable the best & fastest route to Go-live/Project completion. Giving them visibility into the onboarding status as well. 3. Steady improvement in overall implementation/project management.

What do you dislike about Rocketlane?

Since my role does not require me to explore and use all the feature sets of Roketlane I would not be the best judge on their individual feature sets. The User Interface was not very easy to get used to initially.

What problems is Rocketlane solving and how is that benefiting you?

- Easily track the status of Onboarding of Accounts on a dashboard in real-time - No follow-ups with team members are required for status updates on the onboarding. - Improvement in the overall implementation experience

"An excellent product and can be used for simple to complex projects and portfolio management"
What do you like best about Rocketlane?

Rocket Lane boasts robust customization capabilities and an intuitively user-friendly interface. With integrations into key products like Jira and SFDC, it enhances your workflows. This platform proves invaluable for managing complex project activities, streamlining processes between you and your customers, and improving overall efficiency. The reduction in time for stakeholder reporting is significant, minimizing administration efforts in project and program reporting, while also maintaining an audit trail of communications with customers. From a managerial perspective, it offers diverse capabilities such as project planning, RAID log management, gross margin analysis, Time sheet, and stakeholder reporting, now featuring a useful workflow engine. The dedicated team at Rocket Lane is committed to enhancing your customer journey and product experience. They are highly responsive and value your inputs. Hats off – I genuinely enjoy using the product.

What do you dislike about Rocketlane?

The work breakdown structure will rearrange project phases according to dates. While I acknowledge the benefits of this approach, my personal preference is to maintain a consistent view with phases remaining in place, similar to most project planning tools.

What problems is Rocketlane solving and how is that benefiting you?

The Chat tool where customers IT policies prevent alternative chat tools Rocketlane has enhanced customer communications and meetings in projects or larger programs through streamlined processes for documenting meeitngs, streamlining NPS surveys, RAID log management, and project planning. The platform ensures efficient feedback collection with real-time insights from NPS surveys, centralises RAID logs for organized documentation and collaborative updates, and facilitates customisable project planning improving the efficency with templating Work breakdown structures that can be repeated workflows with integrations for enhanced coordination and communication. Overall, Rocketlane contributes to transparent, efficient, and successful project management.

"Finally. Team Project Management & Client Collaboration in ONE PLACE! 🙌🏽"
What do you like best about Rocketlane?

I love how customizable the Rocketlane features are. Rocketlane has made managing collaborative projects with my clients so much easier. -- Even as a team of one. The ability to create a project plan based on your project phases and framework has been invaluable. Not to mention the little presentation button beside the project plan, which makes presenting the plan to clients easy without having to create slides. #timesaved 😍 My projects are really organized in a way that helps my clients know what happening and when. I've cut my onboarding time in half with the project and project role template capabilities alone. The ability to set project milestones and have CSAT surveys with them to get client feedback through the client experience has helped me make intentional, continuous improvements in my process. The other amazing features that have made project management easy with clients are the automatic project status update features and the ability to send items for client approval. The fact that I've been able to use their docs feature to collaboratively write content and create strategies with my client without leaving the tool has been such a beautiful experience. Oh and the ability to make certain tasks private has been so amazing too. Clients don't need to see every task that needs to be completed. I've tried everything... Trello, Asana, Clickup, AhSuite, Copilot, CoordinateHQ and even Google Docs. Nothing beats Rocketlane. Trust me. I've searched high and low for other tools that do the same things, and nothing has the speed and reliability that Rocketlane has. Thank you, Rocketlane leadership for making this tool affordable and within reach for freelancers too. We seem to get forgotten in tech tools that connect team project management with a client collaboration portal.

What do you dislike about Rocketlane?

I would have to say that the only things I wish Rocketlane did better are: (1) Better UI Design: The current UI feels a bit 1999 to me with the design. If I logged in one day and had a more modern minimalist Asana-like design, I believe it would be easier for our clients to navigate and I'd experience more joy working in it too. (2) Slack Button: The inability to remove the Slack button from the portal has almost been a deal breaker for me. My clients get confused as to where to chat with me with both a Slack and chat area. I'd really like to be able to remove or that off in my account settings. (3) Portal Customization: I wish we had more of an ability to change more colors and the layout of the portal to fit our brand. In complete transparency, the gradient thing with just one color is again, a bit 1999 for me. I'd love to be able to remove the list view from the project as well since the project plan is where most of our clients like to work and collaborate with me. Being able to uncheck that would decrease redundancy in the view from the client's side.

What problems is Rocketlane solving and how is that benefiting you?

Rocketlane is helping me to be a better Systems Integrator for my clients by having a more streamlined place to collaborate with them and a team. I've completed some massive workflow and CRM setup projects for my clients in record time using Rocketlane! I'm so glad I found it!

"Straightforward Interface & Excellent Support Program"
What do you like best about Rocketlane?

While using Rocketlane, I found the interface learning steps straightforward to understand. In addition, their templating system helps to create a streamlined process right at the start of signing up. Although I found my way around rather quickly, the onboarding team from RocketLane did a fantastic job showing me the "hidden" or "less know" elements of the software that I did not know about until speaking with them. I do not doubt that someone with less tech/ interface knowledge would be able to learn the program quickly with their support.

What do you dislike about Rocketlane?

I wish the functionality between the internal and client-facing dashboards were a bit more streamlined. For example, in Rocketlane, you can view your client's dashboard, but it only shows you a preview. If you wanted to "test" your system, you would need to create another login, sign in on another browser, and then go through the process as a "client." I feel Rocketlane could do a much better job allowing admin users to preview and "onboard" themselves to preview their system. Second, Rocketlane is a powerful tool with lots of features. However, access to these robust tools comes with a pricing premium compared to other "project management" tools. Therefore, if your business only plans on using some features, this option might not be the best unless your team plans on using all of its offerings, like time tracking, templates, forms, quizzes, client dashboards, etc.

What problems is Rocketlane solving and how is that benefiting you?

Rocketlane has allowed my business to become semi-automated right out of the gate. With this tool, my company can onboard new clients (and team members) incredibly quickly without needing emails, calls, and other forms of communication. The custom templates you can build inside Rocketlane have also helped my business become more streamlined. The possibilities are endless with the type of templates you can create and use over and over for your clients. Plus, the plan I selected allows unlimited clients, so we never have to worry about user account issues.
