Chatter is a relationship enhancer, which means, we get new connections with different people using the app. Again, it acts as an internal communication aid in a company. Furthermore, the app assists in file sharing.
Sometimes sharing large files is disturbing, that is, it becomes hard to upload them. And this means, the compatibility is not the best.
We all need to express and explain ourselves. Chatter is the gadget to us both for business purposes or even for personal needs
I chose Chatter because of its communication features. I use Chatter to give updates to all workers in the organisation. For example if I need to give them a holiday, I just use Chatter to update them instead of calling them. In addition to that, when i wast to send a message to a group of workers, I just write and chose whom to follow the feed. With its amazing features, we were able to create groups whereby workers use it for discussion purposes
So far I haven't experience any disadvantage in using Chatter. I have used it for 5 good month
In our organisation, we use Chatter for many reasons because it is the best. We use it for group discussions, that is, during weekends and late evening. Also we use it to communicate in our organisation to be able to save time for other activities

With Chatter you have to be careful. You can miss a chatter and mayb it was an important, urgent or emergency from your boss.

On video conferencing, the developer of Chatter seem to have ignored this bit, and in the current world, it seems to be very critical for web conferencing and virtual meetings. If the developer focuses on this sector, everything concerning will be excellent.

Sending updates/news to individuals or groups is solved using Chatter. Message sent to the group on chatter is sent to everyone belonging to that group/domain. Appreciation and publications are made easy using chatter.

Right from Welcoming of new employees to achieving any milestone everything can be posted on chatter. You can personally discuss on any topic by posting and know the opinion of everyone from the organization. New projects achievements can also be posted on chatter.
Nothing as such but sometimes unwanted post are also appeared on chatter but that is the reason it has a mute option.
Currently our organization uses chatter for congratulating for every employees achievements. Welcoming of any new employee going to take on at a respectable post. Our organization is going to take on a new journey, new projects is also posted on chatter and wished for future endeavors.
I like the fact that this software has made my work easier, this is because i do not have to send multiple emails to the other employees when i want to pass information but through chatter i just text and they follow the feeds. It is easy to find people because the system organises it in such a way that you can trace what you are looking for easily.
Sometimes when you are not keen you can miss some information communicated previously, that is when the notification is crowded. One has to be extra careful not to miss the important information sent.
The benefit that Chatter has solved is that of saving time, whereby you do not have to send multiple emails to the co workers through chatter you just send one and it will be visible to all.

In chatter we have faced issue with like and dislike button on chatter. like and dislike button is needed in chatter.for this purpose we had choose customization.with customization we have created two button, like and dislike. Also faced button issue on feed also.

For me, the best part of Chatter is being able to keep up with the industry. The deals, specials, and even current happenings of the market. We run a 34 casino/hotel industry and keeping up with multiple businesses in many states is easier with this tool. We have a central place to look at when comparing these categories.
This tool works great, I only wish it was more new-age looking. I think it could be updated little by little to help older people with the transition and help younger people use it more. Also I think if we could make an option to flag feeds that are of high importance that could be useful as well. Thank you for the work done so far, as I say- we use this tool every day, multiple times daily.
We are able to reach out to coworkers and solve individual customer problems or business problems as a whole by using chatter feeds instead of multiple emails daily. That is what makes this tool so effective. Archiving the messages after so long but still making them searchable may be helpful as well so that we can find answers to questions that may have come up in the far past. I think that may be a setting I could be missing though.
I like being able to communicate with employees about problems, guests, or situations that are going on without emaling multiple times daily. this is more of a messaging board and it is easy to use as long as you do not miss messages. I like that you can select groups and people to follow on the feeds.
Sometimes it is easy to miss a chatter notification when you are receiving several per day or at a time. The tool is so easy to use but missing these can be just as easy which can sometimes be frustrating. If there was a way to prioritize from people or group them a certain way as to not miss them that would help a lot. Also some more visuals to make it look more engaging. Make this more interactive like a social networking site and it will be at it's best state.
We use this tool so much within our company and the best portion for us is the management announcement section that is constantly up-to-date. This could be emphasized a little more to show the importance and maybe appear at the top.
I like that I can either reply in-platform, or just reply via email to someone's Chatter
I don't always know if the recipient got my message--I feel like I have to go back and check in to see if someone has replied.

The only thing I dislike is the fact that the communication is not quite real-time but other than that, I really enjoy chatter and find it very useful.
Chatter is a great tool that helps with collaboration within our business users. I used it the most to add all relevant project information and documentation to my different projects. It makes it very convenient and easy to find all relevant information in one central location instead of having to go to multiple places.
Allows sharing information within team members working together. Employees can share information and updates via chatter about Opportunities, Customers. Contacts or any other business objects. This leads to improved communication between co-workers. It makes it easier for new employees to see history of customers/opportunities/cases etc
Key here is adaption. If a culture can be developed where employees share regular updates, then Chatter is a great tool. At some organizations this is not feasible, so Chatter is not useful for such organizations.

Nothing - I basically have not found a thing that makes chatter not interesting. I think chatter is SFDC's answer to the social enterprise. The product has evolved from the time it was first launched.

Chatter is very easy and convenient to use. SalesForse integrates its case/contact/account business platform with this tool to use for communication with other's throughout the business. Communications are easily accessible across the entire business.
Not the best communication tool for all types of interactions. Sometimes it is better to email something but Chatter can still be utilized.
It is a very good tool to use for approvals / escalations / communication across a business without losing communications in an email.
It makes for easy documentation and communication between myself and my coworkers. I like having everything in one place.
I wish reminder could be sent for chatters that have gone unresponded to after a certain period of time.
