Finally, we can do away with awkward separate expense management software and dated pictures of paper receipts. With Brex, I'm able to quickly and efficiently capture all of the expenses I charged to my company card with a super simple and intuitive receipt upload feature. The auto-saving on every updated detail was an unsung hero also, since there have been times I've updated some expense lines only to have the browser crash and all data lost...
At times it was a bit confusing having different credit card numbers - one on the physical card in my wallet, but a different one for digital transactions. I often have to log into Brex just to be sure I have the right card on file to be charged by some vendor... not a big deal, but an annoyance for sure.
We use Brex to capture and record all of our recurring business-related expenses, almost like a 'set and forget' expense account. By updating the first charge with details, every subsequent charge afterwards is a child to the parent - or in other words, I don't need to keep updating subsequent charges with the same details. It's a great time saver, and gives us peace of mind.
Easy of use, Web and mobile Appuser interfaces are great. No fees or hidden costs. It's the great alternative to old and costly brick and mortars business banks. Very easy to deposit checks. Easy to use business Credit Cards and Expenses controls.
Sometimes checks take longer to deposit. No multicurrency support (only USD for the moment). Lacks of Zapier trigger for new charge/deposit on the account.
Business banking. Business Expenses. Credit Cards. Vendor payments. International transfers.
I like that it already has the charges listed from your credit card. It knows to title transactions "Wework" or "Starbucks". It's easy to upload photos. I also think the UI is much better than Expensify. It's also really helpful that you can sign in online and get the info for your physical card. I often do this on flights when I have forgotten my physical card. I use the info from the web to fill in my credit card details, so that I can get in-flight wifi.
The date is always one day off. Because the Brex charge will say Jan 12, I will look for an invoice from Jan 12 but it's actually jan 11. If it's an out-of-policy expense, I continue to get emails for that, which is annoying. There's got to be a way to turn those off or press a "I know this was an accidental charge, take it from my paycheck" button.
We used to spend hours on submitting expenses each month. It takes 90% less time to complete those tasks because of Brex. This has helped us get back to doing the work we actually need to do!
Overall user experience is thoughtful and easy. Granular spending controls for even our most junior employee.
Replacing the physical card that had a damanged mag stripe after using that card to backstop a ton of cloud services we use was very painful. Could have kept number the same and just sent me a replacement card so I didn't have to switch the numbers out -- or do what AMEX does and approve card transactions on the old number that had been previously approved so I had more time to replace the stored card numbers.
Expense management for our entire team. Employees also feel trusted and valued and they benefit from not having to be cash-out-of-pocket or wasted their time with a reimbursement process that is costly when our accounting team has to get involved.
Very easy credit card charge management-- see what are the charges, and can attach memo and receipt. Also great for reimbursing employees-- easy for them to submit expenses and receipts.
It took a while to get the right Brex accounts set up so that cash could be drawn from core bank account. The ACH auth details should be provided upfront so the process is smoother. Also paying vendors is okay via check, but better if the vendor can just enter in their ACH info directly.
Streamlined interface for credit card and expense reimbursement. Great vendor card management to closely manage spend by vendors with their dedicated card each-- helps avoid unnecessary charges.
There are a few things I like about Brex: - It integrates seamlessly with my payroll and accounting software. Automated expense tracking and payroll payments are time-saving. - Its UI is much more straightforward than traditional banks. - Brex rewards are straightforward—you can redeem them whenever you want for whatever you want, and they show up in your account really quickly. - In addition to being FREE, Brex uses partner banks and invests your money into dividend-paying money market funds, so all the money sitting in your account pays you back. I get paid $200-400 per month from these, and it's liquid cash straight into my account. - I like the dashboard and reporting features, although I don't use them much. My business. doesn't really need them, but I could see how someone might. - 8X back on rideshare, 3x back on software, 4x back on restaurants, and money back on Apple products are perfect rewards for my needs. - Free wire transfers - Solid customer service Basically, Brex does everything I need 100x faster than a normal bank, and rather than charge me a monthly fee for a business account, it actually pays me in the form of dividend payouts.
I haven't really found anything that I dislike about Brex, but I'd love to see some more integrated accounting features. I use Wave currently, and it'd be nice to see a few things like automated invoicing and tax information within the app so I could receive instant payouts and use one app for bookkeeping and banking. Also, its travel portal isn't very useful. Most flight options are ridiculously expensive—especially international flights, which I book more—so I just use other credit cards for that. I also never use hotels, only Airbnb. I'd love to see Airbnb as a Brex travel partner.
- Business banking through traditional institutions costs money and is not feature-rich or UX-oriented. Brex is free and easy to use. - Automated expense tracking makes it easy for me to send a photo of a receipt, and it's automatically uploaded into my records. - Brex puts more money in my pocket while helping me do less work.
I like their offerings, reward programs, ease of use, and their support team. They're very easy to work with and have proven to be competent & capable partners.
It's not necessarily a dislike per se, but more of a "I'll be careful" item. They are beefing out their offerings to appeal to a wide audience based upon user feedback and their company direction. Sometimes things get added and I'll accidentally be in a new feature, for instance sending something out as a bill or an expense. They like everyone, have integrations to our financial software and I haven't taken time to really work with how imported information goes into the system so I'm kept it manual. Again, my issues not theirs, but I'm a simple person doing things the old ways. Time for me to make an upgrade?
My largest issue was the fact that the financial transactions we make globally are complex. Its a black box of excessive fees for both the sender and the receiver, large wait times, too much returns and lost money. Brex has solved that problem by having a no fee international wire program, and when we found that a partner bank was removing funds prior to it reaching the recipient, their support team jumped into action and solved the problem and reimbursed my employees for the funds. I imagine to fix that issue was NOT an easy task. Other companies promise to reduce the barriers for interational commerce and I've taken demos of most, and quite frankly they are good in some countries, not others, and the fees are still high; especially for credit card transactions. I'm looking forward to the day when we can bank as if we are in the same building with anyone in the world! Both AP and AR.
The ease of using both the card, app, and logging expenses in your expense report makes Brex a total no-brainer!
Are you allowed to answer nothing? 10/10 it's a great product!
Brex is super efficient and cuts my time spent filing reports in half. Not to mention, checking my card info and recent charges could not be easier. I appreciate the notifications whenever there is a new charge as well. I'm always in the know!
